2. Added elements
A modern, anachronistic, contrasting element is added to the painting. The added element should be out of context and must appear understated but still be so nonnative in the painting, that it is undoubtedly not a part of the original. The added element can’t just be an isolated image placed on top of the painting. The element must be image processed so it looks ‘painted’ in the same way as the painting, matching its colors and resolution. By adding modern elements to an original Skagen painting we are able to communicate more efficiently through imagery.
